Todd if you had to place a % on each returning, what would be your best guess. Thanks |

Martin should retire as a Devil. It's only right. |

"I think if the Devils can offer an amount of term and money even close to some of the other teams in the mix he'll be back, but I'm starting to question if they have the money to offer."
Todd, what is making you think like that? |

Marty should be a Devil for life. If you could go back and erase Kovy's contract to keep Parise and Marty (even if it is 1 or 2 years before his retirement), I'm thinking Lou would revisit that. |

Brodeur is going to the open market??? Burkey should be all over this.. forget Loungo. Brodeur would be great for a year or two until Reimer or Scrivens is ready! Great news! |

I really don't think Devil fans on a Devil blog see it as great news..... |

Well why on earth would Zach want to "test free agency and listen to offers"? He clearly stated he wanted to stay in NJ. Wow, I don't think anyone saw this coming. This must just be some part of Lou's master plan to re-sign him I'm sure.... |

Parise and Brodeur are running away from Jersey and not looking back....Parise doesn't have to run far though, Philly is just a short distance... |

Yah I know... but the reality is, I'm sure Brodeur doesn't want to ruin his legacy by going to the Leafs. |

Ha ha ha ha ha...all these Devils fans that have been saying for weeks that Uncle Lou had a plan and would re-sign Parise have their jaws on the floor now, lol...
While all of us that were saying I told you so, are smiling...
As for Marty, it would be cool if he came to the Leafs for a year to mentor Reimer/Scrivens, but realistically it would be weird to see him in a jersey other than a Devils one...I honestly do hope he re-signs in NJ... |

With the CBA looming, why would a team be in a 40yr old? |

Brodeur - This is all a cash thing. On the open Market, I can't see Marty getting more than a 1yr/4Mill offer. He made somewhere in the neighborhood of $5mill. I don't think he feels a pay cut is neccessary, but I'm sure Lou's initial thoughts were that one was expected, hence the agent now.
Parise - I love the guy, but he's just not a $8mill/year player. |

I'm not rooting for misery...
I said Marty should resign in NJ and retire a Devil.
I was laughing cause for weeks, every fan outside of NJ was questioning why a deal wasn't done with Parise since he apparently loves NJ and the Devils so much, and Devils fans ripped people apart for even talking about him leaving...now its looking more and more like he's leaving...and Devils fans are shocked about what they have been getting told for weeks... |

Who on here is freaking out about the Parise news? He's dumb to not try free-agency.
Not to mention, Economics is a SCIENCE. Devils fans seem to ignore that. |

As a longtime (since day 1) Devil fan I would not be upset at all if Marty left. I happen to be one of these fans who wanted him gone 4 years ago when his play started to slip. He is still a good goalie but no where near elite. There are probably around 12-15 (could be more) goaltenders better then him right now and that's not good. I will always thank Marty for his great years here and some awesome memories but like everything else in life, time to move on and I think the time is now. As for Parise, again I'm in the minority here but I love Zach's work ethic and his blue-collar approach but he is not on the same level as the "elite" players in this league like Crosbys, Stamkos, Malkins etc etc and even Kovy but he'll get a contract worth almost as much or maybe even more then some that are much better then him. Let somebody else overpay for him...he's not worth anywhere near 8-10mil dollar range I've been hearing he wants or going to be offered. Hey if he gets it, great for him but not for the team who signs him I feel. |

You could do the classy thing and laugh to yourself instead of piling on.
It'd be weird to see Marty in a different jersey. I hope he retires a Devil. |
